Softball Recap: West Victorious

West's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Leavenworth PIONEERS 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Chargers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Kendall Munoz was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five runs and one double. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Kutina, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

West's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Leavenworth, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West beat the PIONEERS by a score of 18-3 later that day.
