Basketball Recap: Sebring Takes a Loss

Sebring was the 66-65 winner over Lakeland when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sebring Blue Streaks fell to the Lakeland Dreadnaughts 64-59. The Blue Streaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Sebring lost on Tuesday, don't look at David Allen. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points. Those 27 points gave Allen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Toney, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Sebring was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Sebring's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lakeland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Sebring will take on Discovery at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Sebring has won four straight at home, while Discovery won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Lakeland, they will venture away from home to face off against Lake Region at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland is facing Lake Region at the right time seeing as Lake Region is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
