Soccer Game Preview: West Caldwell vs. Newton-Conover

West Caldwell hasn't had much luck against Newton-Conover recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The West Caldwell Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Newton-Conover Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. West Caldwell has given up an average of 5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

West Caldwell is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Hibriten, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Panthers are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, Newton-Conover kept a clean sheet against North Lincoln on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Newton-Conover's win bumped their record up to 2-4-1. As for West Caldwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

West Caldwell might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Newton-Conover in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can West Caldwell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
