Basketball Recap: North Cobb Comes Up Short

North Cobb lost against Marietta back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Cobb Warriors fell 52-43 to the Marietta Blue Devils. The Warriors were up 21-5 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Marietta found their leader in freshman Leah DeWitt, who posted 35 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The contest was DeWitt's 22nd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyann Senior, who scored seven points in addition to 12 boards and four steals.

North Cobb has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Marietta, they moved to 12-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

North Cobb will be playing in front of their home fans against Walton at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Marietta, they will venture away from home to challenge North Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Paulding will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Marietta surely won't give up without a fight.
