Basketball Recap: Waterloo Takes a Loss

Waterloo was the 50-48 winner over Civic Memorial when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Waterloo Bulldogs took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Civic Memorial Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Eagles are ranked 24th).

Waterloo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Civic Memorial, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterloo will take on Jersey in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Civic Memorial and Highland will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Civic Memorial is facing Highland at the right time seeing as Highland is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
