Softball Recap: Summers County Takes a Loss

Summers County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Bluefield Beavers, falling 12-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 21-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Summers County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bayleigh Pack, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Pack is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Kailyn Cook also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Summers County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Bluefield, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

While Summers County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
