Baseball Recap: Hanover Area Takes a Loss

If Hanover Area was feeling good fresh off their 13-5 takedown of Wyoming Seminary College Prep last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawkeyes took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake-Lehman Knights on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Hanover Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Hanover Area's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lake-Lehman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Hanover Area and Lake-Lehman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Hawkeyes (ranked 202nd) will meet MMI Preparatory School (ranked 496th) at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lake-Lehman will face off against Tunkhannock at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (174 vs. 620).
