Baseball Recap: Oceanside Collegiate Academy Has No Trouble Against Battery Creek

Oceanside Collegiate Academy got themselves on the board against Battery Creek on Tuesday, but Battery Creek never followed suit. They blew past the Dolphins 15-0. The Landsharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Culler looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Oceanside Collegiate Academy let Andrew Palmer and Noah Cannady run wild. Palmer scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Cannady scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Cannady a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Battery Creek, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Battery Creek will be playing at home against Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Dolphins' match: after the Dolphins faces off against the Warriors, they'll take on Oceanside Collegiate Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
