Royal came out on top against Fort Bend Willowridge on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Falcons walked away with an 8-3 win over the Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Bradon Douglas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Douglas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Stephen Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Royal's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Fort Bend Willowridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Coincidentally, Royal and Fort Bend Willowridge will both be playing Sealy the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
