High school basketball: Cameron Boozer, A.J. Dybantsa and Tyran Stokes headline 39 players invited to USA Basketball U16 training camp

Final 12-player roster will be announced prior to FIBA U16 Men's Americas Championship scheduled for June 5-11 in Mexico.

USA Basketball announced the 39 athletes expected to participate in the 2023 USA Men's U16 National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The camp begins May 25 with the 12-member team to be announced prior to departing for the FIBA U16 Men's Americas Championship, scheduled for June 5-11 in Merida, Mexico.

The 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championship features eight teams from the FIBA Americas zone with the top four teams advancing to the 2024 FIBA U17 Men's World Cup in Turkey. Team USA will be in a qualifying group with Puerto Rico, Argentina and Mexico.

The Americans are currently 37-0 all-time at the competition with seven consecutive gold medals.

Sherman White of Pace Academy (Atlanta, Ga.) will serve as the team's head coach. Scott Fitch of Fairport (N.Y.) and Chet Mason of Brush (Lyndhurst, Ohio) will be the assistant coaches. Court coaches during trails will be Rob Brost of Bolingbrook (Ill.), Charlie Ward of Florida State University High School (Tallahassee, Fla.), Dom Amorosa of Strake Jesuit (Houston, Texas) and Tony Irons of Vashon (St. Louis, Mo.).
