Baseball Recap: Hesperia Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Hesperia had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Miller on Saturday. Hesperia put the hurt on Miller with a sharp 12-3 victory. The Scorpions haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brenden Ozaki tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Josh Flores and Carlos Ramirez did most of the damage at the plate: Flores scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Ramirez scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ramirez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dru Lona, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Hesperia's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Miller, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Hesperia will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sultana at 3:15 p.m. Sultana will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hesperia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Miller, they will head out to take on San Bernardino at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
