Softball Game Preview: Baldwin Bulldogs vs. Spring Hill Broncos

Baldwin hasn't had much luck against Spring Hill recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Broncos at 6:30 p.m. This will be Baldwin's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Baldwin is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to Santa Fe Trail.

Meanwhile, Spring Hill waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Trailblazers by a score of 8-5.

Jayden Kistner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olivia Fraley was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Haley Clark was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Spring Hill's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Baldwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Baldwin might still be hurting after the 18-1 loss they got from Spring Hill in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
