Basketball Game Preview: Kermit Yellow Jackets vs. Alpine Bucks

Kermit hasn't had much luck against Alpine recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kermit Yellow Jackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Alpine Bucks at 6:30 p.m. Kermit has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Kermit is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Monahans on Tuesday as Kermit made off with a 55-35 win. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Alpine beat McKinney Christian Academy 51-40 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bucks.

Alpine pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Kermit, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

Kermit and Alpine were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but Kermit came up empty-handed after a 49-48 defeat. Thankfully for Kermit, Novah Carrasco (who posted 27 points along with six boards and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
