Basketball Recap: Mercy Monarchs vs. Ralston Rams

The Mercy Monarchs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Ralston 56-24 on the road. That looming 56-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mercy yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mercy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gianna Bayly, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bayly has scored all season. Leah Anthofer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Mercy's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11. As for Ralston, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.

Mercy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crimson Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ralston, they will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Platteview's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Rams have been banged up by 23 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
