Baseball Recap: St. Michael-Albertville's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After a string of three wins, St. Michael-Albertville's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 5-2 to the Maple Grove Crimson. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Crimson when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

St. Michael-Albertville got a good showing from Blake Klinkhammer, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Klinkhammer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Taylan Siens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Michael-Albertville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Maple Grove, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Looking ahead, St. Michael-Albertville will host Sartell-St. Stephen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maple Grove, they will face off against Edina at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
