Baseball Recap: Dugger Union Finds Home Field Redemption Against Brown County

There's no place like home for Dugger Union, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Brown County Eagles by a score of 10-7 on Saturday.

Seth Fritzinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hudson Head, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Luke Fritzinger, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dugger Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Dugger Union's victory bumped their record up to 2-6-1. As for Brown County, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Dugger Union will welcome North Vermillion at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brown County, they will head out to face off against Southwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
