Baseball Recap: Point Pleasant Beach Gets the Win

Point Pleasant Beach was forced to take a big loss against they on Wednesday, they got the better of them on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Manasquan Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Garnet Gulls: when they faced off against the Warriors on Wednesday, they had to take a 8-2 defeat.

ANTONIO ACEVEDO made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, DANNY LUBACH was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was NOAH BANICK, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Point Pleasant Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Point Pleasant Beach's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Manasquan, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant Beach will square off against Toms River North on Saturday. As for Manasquan, they will take on Liberty at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
