Basketball Recap: Maypearl's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Maypearl's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to the Grandview Zebras 54-50. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Zebras are ranked 169th).

Maypearl's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-9. As for Grandview, they are on a roll lately: they've won 23 of their last 24 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Blooming Grove the next time they take the court. Grandview will host Blooming Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Maypearl will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
