Softball Recap: Lynnwood Takes a Loss

Lynnwood extended their losing streak to 11 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-13 in the process. They lost 19-7 to the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in March.

As for Edmonds-Woodway, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games.

For Edmonds-Woodway's part, Abby McCorvey was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave McCorvey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Tracy, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynnwood will venture away from home to face off against Archbishop Murphy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they will head out to take on Kamiak at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
