Recap: Dunedin Falcons vs. Tarpon Springs Spongers
The Dunedin Falcons had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their game at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 61-15 victory over Tarpon Springs. The victory was just what Dunedin needed coming off of a 97-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Haylee Dones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Clincy, who scored 9 points along with 9 steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tarpon Springs struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dunedin racked up 13.
Dunedin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 1-3. As for Tarpon Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunedin will play host again and welcome Osceola, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Tarpon Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Anclote at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Anclote and Tarpon Springs are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
