Basketball Game Preview: Austin Black Bears vs. James Clemens Jets

Austin and James Clemens are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Austin Black Bears will look to defend their home court on Friday against the James Clemens Jets at 7:30 p.m. Austin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully James Clemens likes a good challenge.

Austin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Bob Jones, who was ranked 14th at the time (Austin was ranked seventh). Austin came out on top against Bob Jones by a score of 63-50 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, James Clemens waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 59-53 W over the Falcons.

Austin pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for James Clemens, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
