Football Recap: Crete Cardinals vs. Seward Bluejays

Crete lost against Seward back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Bluejays. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Crete's loss came despite strong showings from Peyton Steuer and Nick Wendt. Steuer picked up 95 receiving yards and one score, while Wendt threw for 180 yards and one TD.

Kayson Salyer produced another solid effort throwing for 246 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes for Seward. Jack Vyhnalek was another key player, picking up 147 receiving yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for Crete and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Seward, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Crete does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seward, they will challenge McCook on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 945 yards in their previous games.
