Basketball Game Preview: Fontainebleau Bulldogs vs. Chalmette Owls

The Fontainebleau Bulldogs will take on the Chalmette Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fontainebleau has seven straight victories, Chalmette has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Fontainebleau will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Slidell, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Fontainebleau narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Slidell 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since December 12, 2023.

Meanwhile, Chalmette lost a heartbreaker to Northshore when they met back in December of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The matchup between Chalmette and Northshore didn't end well, with Chalmette falling 61-45. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Panthers are ranked 19th).

Fontainebleau pushed their record up to 19-13 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Chalmette, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

Fontainebleau came out on top in a nail-biter against Chalmette in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 63-60. Does Fontainebleau have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chalmette turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
