League recap: St. Michael's extends winning streak with victory over New Mexico Military Institute

St. Michael's extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 5 this week by beating New Mexico Military Institute, 58-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Horsemen.

St. Michael's took down the Colts 58-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

St. Michael's' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Horsemen feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cory Serna has thrown for 1227 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Salomon Martinez has 20 catches for 413 yards. Martinez leads the league in rushing with 311 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Albuquerque Academy takes on Hope Christian. The Chargers are in second place, while the Huskies are in third place.

Joey Fernandez's team led 3A District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on New Mexico Military Institute.
