Basketball Recap: North East Grape Pickers vs. Iroquois Braves

North East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Iroquois Braves. The Grape Pickers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 62-43.

Cajohn Howard was nothing short of spectacular for Iroquois: he went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and three steals. What's more, Howard also posted a 70% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Roman Caporale was another key player, going 5 of 11 to rack up 13 points and seven boards.

North East's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Iroquois, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12.

Coming up, North East will square off against Harbor Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iroquois, they will take on Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
