Basketball Recap: Red Bluff Comes Up Short

Red Bluff lost against Foothill back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Bluff Spartans took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foothill Cougars.

Despite the loss, Red Bluff still got an impressive performance from Kayden Leaf, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points. Bryce Owens was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 13 points.

Foothill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matt Poulsen, who posted 20 points. With that strong performance, Poulsen is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Zane Miceli, who earned nine points and five boards.

Red Bluff's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Foothill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Red Bluff has already played their next game, a 48-37 loss against Pleasant Valley on the 21st. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-45 win against Enterprise on the 21st.
