Volleyball Game Preview: Madison Plains Golden Eagles vs. Northridge Vikings

After both having extra time off, the Madison Plains Golden Eagles and the Northridge Vikings will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison Plains will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Madison Plains faced off against Grove City Christian on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Madison Plains never let Grove City Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-13, 25-22.

Madison Plains relied on the efforts of Audrey Perigo, who had seven aces and three digs, and Ariel Stout, who had six digs and four aces. That's the most digs Perigo has posted over her last six matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Madison Plains was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Centerburg 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since September 4th.

Northridge's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Madison Plains, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.
