The Lynn Classical Rams will face off against the Reading Memorial Rockets at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Lynn Classical barely beat Everett the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams never let the Crimson Tide get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Crimson Tide recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Rolky Brea was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Brea was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Christian Figueroa was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was D Munoz, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Reading Memorial entered their tilt with Winchester on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Red & Black with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Rockets have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Reading Memorial let Liam Hansen and Sam Clark run wild. Hansen went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Clark went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That stolen base was Hansen's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Greatorex, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.
Lynn Classical's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Reading Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lynn Classical has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Reading Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lynn Classical couldn't quite finish off Reading Memorial when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
