Baseball Recap: Stafford Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Stafford can now relate to. They fell just short of the Giddings Buffaloes by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by just one run.

Dana Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Stafford's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 8-4 (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

Stafford is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-11. As for Giddings, they pushed their record up to 13-9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Stafford nor the Buffaloes have any future games scheduled.
