Basketball Recap: Hammondsport Takes a Loss

Hammondsport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Friendship Golden Eagles. The Lakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Hammondsport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Friendship, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Coming up, Hammondsport will take on Avoca Central at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Friendship, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Golden Eagles take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fillmore's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.
