Basketball Game Preview: Bentley Phoenix vs. Quarry Lane Cougars

The Bentley Phoenix will take on the Quarry Lane Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bentley has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Quarry Lane will arrive with 12 straight wins.

On Tuesday, Bentley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to College Prep.

Meanwhile, Quarry Lane earned a 53-46 victory over California School for the Deaf on Monday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while the Eagles are ranked 1282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Quarry Lane's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Bentley, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
