Basketball Game Preview: North Buncombe Black Hawks vs. McDowell Titans + Official Tickets

North Buncombe is 1-9 against McDowell since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Black Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 8:00 p.m.

North Buncombe is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since November 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt an 83-44 defeat at the hands of Franklin. The Black Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-21.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but McDowell ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 65-57 win over Mallard Creek. The Titans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

McDowell's win came from a few key players North Buncombe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dredon Lytle, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rae Garner, who had 17 points.

North Buncombe now has a losing record of 1-2. As for McDowell, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

North Buncombe came up short against McDowell when the teams last played back in January, falling 73-68. Thankfully for the Black Hawks, Kyson Rinnert (who earned 23 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
