Basketball Recap: Alief Elsik Comes Up Short

After flying high against Westside last Monday, Alief Elsik came back down to earth. The Alief Elsik Rams took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iowa Colony Pioneers on Friday.

Iowa Colony got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eryn Roberts out in front who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Rogers, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Alief Elsik's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Iowa Colony, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Alief Elsik wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-19 win against George Ranch on the 7th. As for Iowa Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-34 defeat against La Porte on the 7th.
