Softball Recap: DeLaSalle Gets the Win

DeLaSalle lost to Holy Family Catholic back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Islanders came out on top against the Fire by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Islanders.

Eva Heinecke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elina Ditty, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Ewert, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

DeLaSalle's victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Holy Family Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

DeLaSalle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holy Family Catholic, they will challenge Jordan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
