Football Game Preview: Tuscaloosa Academy Knights vs. Bayside Academy Admirals + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Mark Norris and Davis Barnett are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Tuscaloosa Academy Knights will face off against the Bayside Academy Admirals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tuscaloosa Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Coosa Christian just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by the Conquerors and fell 56-21.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Norris and Mac Long. Long had a great game and rushed for 45 yards and three TDs. Meanwhile, Norris did his best for the losing side, throwing for 284 yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Meanwhile, Bayside Academy had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They walked away with a 23-14 victory over the Tigers. The game was the first time the Admirals have beaten the Tigers on their field since September 20, 2019.

Tuscaloosa Academy better keep an eye on Brennen Yamane. He was instrumental in Bayside Academy's win, rushing for 120 yards and one TD. Those 120 rushing yards gave Yamane a new career-high.

We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Tuscaloosa Academy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 370.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Bayside Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 373.3 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Tuscaloosa Academy won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, slipping by Bayside Academy 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
