The Rock Academy Warriors will face off against the Guajome Park Academy Frogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rock Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Rock Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 23-19 win over Pacific Ridge on Friday.
Max Gimbel made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off eight hits. Gimbel was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Quentin Uhland was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Olson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Rock Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Guajome Park Academy's offense. They came up short against Army-Navy on Friday, falling 11-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Frogs have suffered against the Warriors since April 21, 2021.
Rock Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Guajome Park Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything went Rock Academy's way against Guajome Park Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Rock Academy made off with a 19-1 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Frogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
