Basketball Game Preview: Cary Imps vs. Green Hope Falcons

Two dominant guards in Kyndall Brewington and Abigail Brown are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cary Imps will be playing at home against the Green Hope Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Cary came up short against Green Level and fell 53-43. The Imps haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Green Hope has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against Apex Friendship on Friday, falling 68-48. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Patriots are ranked 49th).

Cary will have to contain Brown as she made an impact in Green Hope's last game. She almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. That was a full 39.6% of Green Hope's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lea Tomanska, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Green Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Cary beat Green Hope 42-33 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Cary have another victory up their sleeve, or will Green Hope turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
