Basketball Recap: Maya Angelou Public Charter Takes a Loss

Maya Angelou Public Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 48-24 to E.L. Haynes. Maya Angelou Public Charter lost against E.L. Haynes in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 2-0 score last time.

Among those leading the charge was Juan Creamer, who posted 13 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Maya Angelou Public Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for E.L. Haynes, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Maya Angelou Public Charter will take on SEED DC at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for E.L. Haynes, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Digital Pioneers Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Digital Pioneers Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something E.L. Haynes surely won't give up without a fight.
