Baseball Game Preview: Faith Lutheran Crusaders vs. Jesuit Marauders

The Faith Lutheran Crusaders will be taking part in a tournament against the Jesuit Marauders at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Jesuit took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Faith Lutheran, who comes in off a win.

Faith Lutheran is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Las Vegas, who was ranked fourth at the time (Faith Lutheran was ranked tenth). The Crusaders won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 10-9. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Rouselle Shepard was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Faith Lutheran is 6-1 when Shepard posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Stringer, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Faith Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Jesuit's offense. They came up short against De La Salle on Friday, falling 6-0.

Jesuit has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Faith Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
