Volleyball Game Preview: Grantsburg Pirates vs. Frederic Vikings

Grantsburg has gone a perfect 10-0 against Frederic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grantsburg has seven straight victories, Frederic has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Grantsburg saw some tournament action on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Amery 2-1.

Grantsburg found their leader in freshman Eden Burkman, who had eight digs and five aces.

Meanwhile, Frederic came up short against Three Lakes on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Grantsburg's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Frederic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.

Grantsburg took their win against Frederic in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
