Baseball Recap: Naperville North Huskies vs. Glenbard East Rams
Naperville North fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Glenbard East on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 7-6. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Naperville North got a good showing from Brandon Person, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Person a new career-low.
At the plate, Brady Marino made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Vorwick, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
Naperville North now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Glenbard East, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Naperville North will venture away from home to face off against Neuqua Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenbard East, they will host Harlem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
