Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Forbush

Forbush had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the East Surry Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on Tuesday.

Luke Hutchens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Moxley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Forbush's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-2 (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

Forbush was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Forbush's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for East Surry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
