Softball Recap: Sunnyside Wildcats vs. Justin Garza Guardians

Sunnyside had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-14 to make it six. They lost 13-0 to the Justin Garza Guardians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Guardians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 last Tuesday.

Sunnyside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachael Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Justin Garza, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The result was nothing new for Justin Garza, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Justin Garza's side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Escobedo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
