Baseball Recap: Croatan Takes a Loss

Croatan blew Hunt out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Hunt got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 9-7. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ethan Demercurio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Croatan has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Hunt, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Croatan will be taking part in a tournament against Martin County at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hunt, they will host South Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
