Basketball Game Preview: Parker Thundering Herd vs. Hillcrest Patriots

The Parker Thundering Herd will head out to face off against the Hillcrest Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Parker has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Hillcrest will arrive with 15 straight wins.

Parker's tournament run continued when they took on Chelsea on Saturday. Parker was beaten by Chelsea 68-15. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Hornets are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Hillcrest was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Enterprise 72-27. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Hillcrest pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.9 points per game. As for Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Parker was dealt a bruising 67-33 loss at the hands of Hillcrest when the teams last played back in November. Can Parker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
