Football Game Preview: Bishop Shanahan Eagles vs. Downingtown West Whippets

Bishop Shanahan hasn't had much luck against Downingtown West recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Whippets at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Downingtown West will be up against a hot Bishop Shanahan team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles breezed past Sun Valley to the tune of 41-7 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Vanguards are ranked 355th).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Downingtown West over Great Valley in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Whippets blew the Patriots out of the water with a 38-6 final score. The Whippets haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Downingtown West's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bishop Shanahan, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Bishop Shanahan didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Downingtown West in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 28-22 victory.
