Baseball Game Preview: Fowler Redcats vs. Monache Marauders

Fowler is on a ten-game streak of home wins, while Monache is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Redcats will welcome the Marauders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fowler's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Monache's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Fowler is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over El Diamante.

Meanwhile, Monache never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against Tulare Western by a score of 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 27, 2021, but that streak is no more.

The result came thanks to Brody McCoy's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, Monache's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ty Baxter, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fowler has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Monache, their win bumped their record up to 20-9.

Everything went Fowler's way against Monache when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Fowler made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Redcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marauders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
