Baseball Recap: Neuqua Valley Victorious

Neuqua Valley was forced to take a big loss against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Tuesday. They never let the DeKalb Barbs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Neuqua Valley got a great performance from Josh Repmann as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Repmann a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Widloe, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Neuqua Valley is undefeated when Widloe posts two or more runs, but 6-11-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mike Langan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Neuqua Valley's record now sits at 10-11-1. As for DeKalb, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-8-1.

Neuqua Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Barbs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
