Carli Melton posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Looking ahead, Melton and Bayside will head out on the road to face off against Tallwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
