League recap: Hatboro-Horsham win leads to rise in state rank

Hatboro-Horsham moved up to 342 from 375 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Suburban One - Continental. The Hatters were able to make the jump by beating Quakertown 14-13.

Central Bucks South extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating North Penn, 36-29. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Titans.

Jon Pileggi put up the best numbers through the air as Central Bucks South topped the Knights. He finished with a total of 18 completions for 237 yards and four touchdowns. Pileggi's favorite target this week was Steve Veal, who caught six passes for 86 yards.

Kyle Wenger was the best wideout in the league this week as Souderton fell to Pennridge. Wenger tallied seven receptions for 116 yards. Dan Knight helped Souderton's passing attack out by catching two balls for four yards.

Mike Class was the most productive running back in Suburban One - Continental this week. He ran for 270 yards on 20 carries as the Rams lost to the Rams. Teammate Alex Krivda added to the ground attack by rushing for 75 yards.

5-foot-8 quarterback Cody Riemenschneider of Central Bucks West is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1072. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Pennridge's Class has rushed for 1249 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Paul Weeks. The Central Bucks South star has 20 catches for 354 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Central Bucks South takes on second place Pennridge. Last week, Dave Rackovan's team defeated North Penn, while Randy Cuthbert's team bested Souderton.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Rams take on the Titans. Pennridge has allowed 109 points this season, while Central Bucks South has given up 106. The Rams allowed 35 points last week as they topped Ed Gallagher's team.

There should be lots of points scored when Pennridge and the Titans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Rams comes in having scored 203 this season, while Central Bucks South has scored 271. Pennridge scored 45 points last week as it beat the Indians.

Hatboro-Horsham and the Panthers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Hatboro-Horsham eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
